Who funds us?
We are a Government Ran Independent School.
This means, we receive funding from the Government, to ensure we can afford the running of the school. It also means we are able to set our own: curriculum, school dates and our own learning environment.

We also have a range of partnerships, to ensure the children have a range of experiences and are able to gain a sense of expertise in certain areas.
These partnerships include:
- Princes Trust
- Duke of Edinburgh
- Fruit of the Loom
- Barclays
Uniform:
The school uniform will be provided free for all children! We need the applications in by the 4th October, to ensure all uniforms are ordered and arrive in time for the first day.

Children will be provided with:

A school polo shirt

A school jumper

A coat
-
A pair of wellies
Children will also be expected to wear suitable trousers and shoes. This will NOT be provided by the school.
School Dates:
Here at BSDT, the children will be allowed one month of for Christmas holiday, as well as their summer holidays. They will also be allowed 2 weeks off for Easter and one week for half term.

The dates for 2017-2018 are:

Start Date - Monday 4th September.
Christmas Holidays - 14th December to 15th January.
Half Term - 12th February to 19th February.
Easter Holidays - 26th March to 9th April
Summer Holidays - 7th August

School Meals:
Here at BSDT, all children will be provided with a hot school meal.
All children will be eligible for this meal and will be provided every morning with an option of two different meals, or the option for the children to have a packed lunch if they wish. Children will eat their meal in the hall with the rest of the pupils.
​
The set meal includes: a drink, either a vegetarian or a meat meal, and a dessert.
Children will also be offered fruit at break time.

Transport:
As we do not have a selection process of other, first come, first serve. We understand that children may potentially be travelling a very long distance.
​
To meet this need, we will have a free school bus that will pick all children up living outside of a 3 mile radius from the school. This is to ensure that parents are not put off from sending the children to our school, due to the cost of getting their children to and from everyday.
​
The route and times for each bus ride will be confirmed, once all children have received their confirmation letter to the school.
